No Sew Fabric Pumpkins

It’s super easy to decorate your home for fall with these no sew fabric pumpkins. I love working with old holey jeans (I have to confess to a mini stash of them saved from the trash!) so these beautiful fabric pumpkins are a great use for old jeans seams, this is a super easy DIY.

Grab a variety of old jeans, several plastic pumpkins, some fabric glue and lets get making the easy fall decor with this easy tutorial. I found my plastic pumpkins on Amazon but your local craft store or dollar store may have some.

For glue I have used Fabri-Tac as it dries quickly, if you don’t have any to hand you could use a hot glue gun or mod podge.

No Sew Fabric Pumpkins

Materials

• Old jeans
• Plastic or foam pumpkins
• Glue
• Feathers
• Twine

Start by cutting out the seams of the jeans. I strongly advise using sharp fabric scissors to make your life easier!

Then pull out the stem of the pumpkin just a little from the center of the pumpkin so you can slide pieces of the denim fabric underneath.

Next apply glue to a plastic pumpkin and adhere a strip of denim to the pumpkin.

Gradually build up layers of denim strips butting up closely to the fabric edges, trimming the ends of the fabric at whatever degree angle is required.

Grab some garden twine and add to the dips in the pumpkin sections, adhering with glue. Work your way round the whole pumpkin with pieces of jute twine removing any excess twine at the bottom of the pumpkin.

Some feathers collected on a walk in your favorite season make the perfect addition to finish off your scrap fabric pumpkins. At the top of the pumpkin lift the stem fractionally and slide underneath as faux leaves. If you need to use a bit of hot glue to hold in place to complete the desired look.
