How to make a quick and easy halloween spider costume…
Twenty four hours prior to a halloween party my daughter decides she wishes to go, dressed up. I don’t know about you but it would grate to spend money on a costume she is only going to wear once. Likewise I didn’t have hours to make something intricate or complicated.
I hit upon the idea of a spiders web cut out from felt, loosely stitched onto an existing top. Initially I planned on making a red dress but realised that a) I didn’t have the fabric and b) we could use clothes she already had!
To make your own, you will need felt, an old top, tailors chalk, scissors and thread.
Start by loosely cutting out your felt to the size of your top.
Mark out your spiders web using tailor’s chalk.
Cut out the spiders web
Lay out your felt web, pin in place and then hand stitch down.
We paired the top up with sparkly tights and skirt.
and added some face paints, one finished halloween spider costume
Total cost nothing, result!

I love the costume. You make these things look so easy, it would take me a month to make that! Thank you for sharing on #ThriftyThursday :)
