Are you wondering what to do with fabric scraps? If you are anything like me you generate lots of fabric scraps!
There are so many different projects you can make from tiny projects like jewellery to bigger projects for example scrap fabric quilts.
As you can imagine I generate quite a bit of scrappy bits of fabric.
Scrap Fabric Projects
Fabric Scrap Thumbtacks
I love these fabric scrap thumbtacks, they really would use up all those tiny bits of fabric. Thanks, Jessica for the tutorial.
Scrunchies
I’m more info headbands since my hair is short but if I had long hair I would be all about making scrunchies. There are so many great tutorials out there so you can make them large and 80’s style or more subtle with a tiny bow.
Handmade Notelets
Handmade notelets, simply cut out little triangular shapes, glue stick them down and sew a line across the top! This week, as part of my zero waste week efforts I have made a few, ready to include in any christmas sales parcels:)

Fabric Scrap Wreath
Brighten up your home this fall with a fabric scrap wreath – would use up loads of scraps!! Naturally, you can color theme your wreath for Christmas, or autumn, or stick with these wonderful bright colors.
Fabric Tape
How about some fabric tape to brighten up any parcel? or to make cards with?
Applique Tote Bag
Learn how to cover any logo on a gifted tote bag by showing you how to use your fabric scraps to applique fabric in a modern simple design – no sewing machine is required.
Scrap Fabric Coasters
This is an easy project to showcase your favorite fabric scraps. Simple and easy to make fabric coasters make great gifts.
Fabric Twine
But I have to admit I think I have saved the best to last! My favorite idea is this gorgeous fabric twine – I had a go at making my own. It does take time, and slightly longer pieces of scrap than the others but I think this would add a unique touch to wrapping parcels, or if you are good at crochet perhaps you could crochet with it?
If all else fails use your fabric scraps as stuffing for pincushions, or save it and take it to your local charity shop or recycling centre for rag collection.
I would love to know what you do with your fabric scraps, I have started a pinterest board to collect ideas:)

Wow, the fabric twine is amazing. But being a spinner, I'm not sure I would consider attempting it by hand. Yeowtch! It's really, really beautiful as a twine and would be an amazing trim to add to a garment, though. When I made art yarns, it was fun to toss in fabric scraps to hang out among the beehives and coils. Nice post full of fun ideas. I like the fabric tape too. I've a drawer that's overflowing with scraps. I also saw someone else make pictures with their scraps by putting spray adhesive or a fusible on the back, then placing and topstitching. Beautiful pillows.
