Be Resourceful

This week is Waste Less Live More week, the title being fairly self explanatory:) The week aims to raise awareness that environmental and social issues are interlinked and tackling these issues together is a far more effective solution.

I have signed up to take part in the Be Resourceful challenge. To be honest it comes with perfect timing for me. I have been seriously tempted by a £15 off if you spend £30 on Ebay Fashion, 20% off Marks & Spencers (I was thinking winter tights) and £25 of you spend £50 at Body Shop.

I am delighted to say I have resisted, I don’t need any clothes, irrespective of whether they are second hand, or any more makeup (which I wear at the most once a week!). I have this saved my wallet at least £40:).

The Be Resourceful week focusses on different ideas each day:

So here’s a run-down of them:
Monday-Make It
Tuesday-Borrow It
Wednesday-Value It
Thursday-Grow It
Friday-Share It
Saturday-Fix It
Sunday-Discover It

Perhaps there should be a swap it day?

Today I have been working on making items for blog posts later in the week, and Fixing:)

Handbag fix

A friend of mine borrowed this handbag from a work colleague, unfortunately the handle broke. I offered to repair it.

Handbag fixed

After an attempt at trying to create leather straps I moved onto fabric (to be kind to my sewing machine). Hopefully they are strong enough to hold.

I am going to be visiting the Waste Less Live More site daily to read the variety of interesting guest bloggers. I hope you have a good week,

I work for a company that's all about reducing the use of resources and recycling, reusing etc. I've never heard of this campaign, but it's great to see so many new campaigns starting up. Great job on the bag - looks nice with fabric straps.

Your friend has a beautiful bag! I'm not surprised she wanted you to mend it for her. I'm a big fan of sprucing things up instead of throwing them away.

What a great idea! I love things like this...we all need a reminder to save resources and having a week like this is fab. I love what you did to the bag btw!

I really need to be more resourceful and value more of the things that I actually own. I waste too much money on things that I don't need! I really should follow this and appreciate what I have.
