We have had a productive week in our house. I am delighted to say my husband has caught the upcycling bug, or should I say was inspired by an article in March’s Reloved Magazine? Introducing his Upcycled Slide Lampshade:
Several evenings of labour have gone into creating his version of Ashlee Park’s slide lampshade.
We like the result but with young children rather sadly it has inevitable ended up on a high shelf..
I have made a further man’s messenger bag utilising cuffs to add pockets at the front. I enjoyed piecing together different parts of the jacket to create the bag.
You may remember I applied for a Photocraft scholarship, I was not successful this time. Undeterred I have thrown my hat in the ring for funding from Support Small Biz UK. It would mean a great deal to me if you could spend a minute voting for me, it’s only two clicks and you can vote every day!
I hope you have had a creative week, as usual I am popping by Handmade Harbour to see what other people have been creating:)

I love the light shade. My mum has some of those slides, stuck in a box in the attic. This would make a really special mother's day gift for her :)

That lamp is a great way to use slides - brilliant...so original, and beautiful too.

I love that lampshade. Some of my family have lots of slides lying around. This could be a great project for them to do.

The lampshade is beautiful, I can imagine that it's amazing when lit up. I've voted for you too!

I think that lampshade is fantastic - will be looking for slides at our next carboot sale! We are about to send some clothes to the recycling bin but I may dig out a jacket that is in there and have a go at making a bag instead!
