DIY Denim Mirror Frame, a perfect no sew old jeans craft project

Are you wondering what to do with your old jeans, as a no sew craft project?  I keep all parts of old jeans, this denim mirror frame makes the most of the seams from your old jeans. I have to confess to collections of waistbands, seams, pockets, hems and of course the fabric of the jeans themselves. I am rather obsessed with old jeans and their many ways of being upcycled. There are so many craft projects you can make with jeans.

This craft project for old jeans is no-sew, no need to coax your sewing machine through layers of denim for this project!! Find yourself an old mirror frame, save up your jeans and you are ready to go.

My parents are in the process of renovating a bungalow – I have to admit I did a quick whizz around identifying items I could transform before they headed for the skip. This rather 1980’s mirror was crying out for a little update.

This mirror is crying out to be updated. Not everything always goes to plan with a DIY, I did try several different types of glue (gorilla glue and E6000) before settling on using a glue gun. The type of surface your mirror frame has will determine the type of suitable glue, try a glue gun first.

DIY Denim Mirror Frame

Start by sanding the frame of your mirror, this is essential as it provides a key for the glue.

Once you have sanded the frame give it a really good clean.

Trim your stash of jeans for the seams. Create yourself a nice big pile of seams – the amount you will need will depend upon the size of your mirror frame. I recommend good sharp scissors, it will make your life much easier.

Next for the fun bit! Place glue onto the mirror frame from your glue gin and place strips of denim around the frame. Place the edge of the denim next to the mirror, then trim along the outer edge. As you can see my edges are not perfectly neat but it doesn’t distract from the overall finished effect.

I hope you love this no sew project for old jeans as much as I do.
