Recycled Gift Tag Ideas
In our family there is a birthday just before Christmas, Christmas, and then a birthday. Coupled with five siblings to be more than generous to our children, we inevitably have carrier bags of gifts stuffed into the wardrobe.
Yesteday evening we were busy hunting for names written on wrapping paper, biro is surprisingly difficult to spot. I even found some gifts I knew I had wrapped – but could I remember who the gifts were for and for which event?? I ended up unwrapping and re-wrapping!!
So today I am on a mission to make gift tags, recycled of course:)
To make your own you will need:
◾Christmas cards or magazine images in suitable colours
◾Glue
◾Card
◾Ribbon/fabric
◾String
◾Buttons/ sequins
◾Scissors
To make:
◾Start by making a collage from your old Christmas cards, on your base card. Let the glue dry
◾Cut out your gift card shapes – it’s fun to experiment with different shapes
◾Play with your fabric, ribbon and buttons to add your unique decoration
◾Finally punch a hole in and add string
I enjoyed making them – perhaps because I squeezed some fabric and buttons in!!! But primarily because a unique gift tag, as an adornment to simple wrapping can make a present look special and loved:)
Here are some great alternative, fun ideas for recycled gift tags:
