Whirl wind of a summer holidays

I can’t quite believe it but we only have two weeks of the school summer holidays left… I have somewhat mixed feelings about the gorgeous tot starting schoool, I guess in blog land he will be referred to as my son.

the tot

This week we had a few days in Copenhagen attending a family wedding. I managed to make myself a new bag to cram the kids colouring etc into, speaking no words of Danish we packed what we could to keep them going as long as possibel!!

Large UPcycled Pink Tote

I made the denim tote in pink fabrics from former trousers (tutorial).

My husband used his upcycled trousers into messenger bag every day. He has come up with some suggested modifications, as much as I love the internal pocket created from a shirt cuff it is not big enough to hold wallett and phone! I’m hoping to make some more for my etsy shop as I only have one in stock.

Upcycled mans Messenger bag

We were careful making picnics every day, buying a travel card and muesum card which saved us loads but we did treat ourselves to a gorgeous coffee and cake. I loved the decor of the cafe, particularly the shelving made from piping.

Piping shelving

Overall we had a fantastic time – a rare family shot!

Here’s to a further whirlwind for the last two weeks. I hope you are having a great summer.

Your bag looks fabulous, it's amazing how quick our children age isn't it, I can't believe my little one is ready for school yet.

Lovely pic of your family. Seems a One time now since I had that feeling of my babies going to 'big school'! Great bags you made for your trip, I often wonder how men manage when out if they don't have a man-bag!

Lovely to see your holiday pics, and what a great bag. I'm at the other end of the school spectrum, my youngest has just done GCSE's and is off to 6th form next week - it really does go quick, I remember his first day in reception SO well. Enjoy the cuddles whilst you can!

I've never been to Denmark [yet], but I suspect a good portion of the Populace probably speak better English than we do! ;-] Anyhoo, sounds like you all had FUN! And the Bags look great! - [The Family, too!] :-D
